How Much Does Tree Removal Cost in Nanaimo?
We charge $500 to $2,500 for most single-tree removals in Nanaimo — from about $300 for a small tree up to $3,500 or more when it is large or tight against a structure. What a quote usually includes
Our quote covers felling or sectional dismantling, cutting the wood to length, chipping the brush, and hauling the debris away. We price stump grinding and bucking firewood as add-ons. The ISA-certified arborist assessment that comes with your free quote costs you nothing; a written arborist report is a separate standalone document for insurance, disputes, or a permit submission.
When permit costs apply
In the City of Nanaimo you can take out up to four non-significant trees a calendar year without a permit under Bylaw 7126. Past that, or for a tree in a riparian or Development Permit Area, you need a permit, and it may come with replacement-tree conditions. On rural property in the Regional District of Nanaimo, Development Permit Areas in Bylaw No. 500 apply instead. Book several trees into one visit and you spread the setup cost across all of them. Keep the wood as firewood and you cut the disposal line out. Clearing our access before we arrive saves labour on the day, and scheduling work that is not urgent keeps you off the 25–50% storm premium.
